Hello, this is Cristi. Today, I want to show you a cool trick in Microsoft Word on cleaning up your text that you bring from external sources and its broken down into weird lines and paragraphs, and it doesnt keep sentences together. So this is typically happening when you bring texts in from for example, audio transcripts or YouTube or video transcripts. Let me show you an example here. This text is in Notepad and it is a transcript of a video. And, you know, when you save that as a text from like a YouTube or some other transcription tool, it could be like this with line breaks where they shouldnt be line breaks because thats when the timestamp tells the video that its a new phrase, so then the transcription software breaks it down like this into different paragraphs. But actually if you look at this, this is actually a single sentence. So it should be really up here instead of down there like that. So when you want to take this text, maybe to create

Right-click the text on which you want to base a new style. In the mini toolbar that appears, click Styles, and then click Create a Style. In the Create New Style from Formatting dialog box, give your style a name and click OK.
CTRL-SPACE removes character-level formatting from the selected text (fonts, italics/bold, font size, etc.) but leaves paragraph formatting (indents, line spacing, etc.) intact. CTRL-Q leaves fonts and other character formatting intact but reverts paragraph-level formatting to Normal Style of current document.
If you try to delete a style thats being used in the document, youre asked to choose a style to replace the one youre deleting. Tip: You can drag styles in the Paragraph Styles menu to organise them. Helpful?
On the Home tab, in the Styles group, right-click the style that you want to remove from the gallery. Click Remove from Style gallery on the shortcut menu. Note: Removing a style from the gallery does not remove the style from the entries that appear in the Styles task pane.
Omission of one or more paragraphs If one or more paragraphs have been omitted, use four dots, that is, three spaced dots immediately following the period at the end of the preceding paragraph.
Delete a paragraph style Click anywhere in your document text. In the Format sidebar, click the paragraph style name near the top. In the Paragraph Styles menu, move the pointer over the name of the style you want to delete, then click the arrow that appears and choose Delete Style.
On the Home tab, in the Font group, click Clear All Formatting. On the Message tab, in the Basic Text group, click Clear All Formatting.
Omissions of material from a quoted passage, whether run-in or block, should be indicated by ellipsis points (three spaced dots) positioned on the line and separated by one space from the preceding text or from any punctuation marks that follow it.
