To change the formatting of the footnote numbers, select the Footnotes Reference Style. If you want to change the formatting of the footnote text at the bottom of the page, select the Footnote Text Style. Click Modify, and then change the formatting options (font, size, and so on).
From the list of notes, right click or tap and hold a note, and then click or tap Delete note.
Click in the text immediately after the symbol for the note you want to delete, then press Delete on your keyboard.
Remove a footnote If you want to delete the footnote (thats at the bottom of the page), delete the number 1 in the body. When you do that, the footnote itself disappears. Another way you can do this is to right-click the footnote at the bottom of the page, select Go to Footnote and then delete the number there.
Show or hide annotations Click the View button in the toolbar, then choose Hide Smart Annotations or Show Smart Annotations.
To remove a footnote: Find the superscript reference in the body of the text (not the footer) and delete that superscript. That will remove the superscript and the note in the footer as well as in your text. Any other footnotes will be automatically renumbered as well.
To delete a footnote or an endnote, you must delete the note reference mark in the document window, not the text of the note. In the document, select the note reference mark of the note that you want to delete, and then press DELETE .
