If the stains are set in or have been present for a while, try this solution for a deep-clean. Spray WD-40 on the stain and behind the fabric as well. Wait approximately five minutes for WD-40 to break down the oil in ink. Do your laundry, as usual; the stain should come off.
Apply rubbing alcohol, hair spray, or hand sanitizer to dilute the stain, making it easier to remove during the wash. These solvents help tackle most types of ink stains but remember to test the stained garment for colorfastness first as they can also attack fabric dyes and cause further damage.
Pre-treat with alcohol-based hand sanitizer This will start to break up the ink, and you will see the stain begin to lighten. Let the hand sanitizer gel stay on the ink stain for a few minutes before continuing. If the ink is fresh, blot it with a paper towel first, to remove excess ink.
You could try rubbing alcohol to see if it will remove the marker. If a laundry marker was used, the problem will be IF the ink penetrated or yellowed the clearcoat upon removing the signatures. A paint marker can typically be rubbed off with elbow grease.
Use acetone to erase ink. Most nail polish remover is made of acetone, and this can be used to remove ink from paper. Apply a small amount of acetone to a cotton swab, and rub into the ink youre trying to erase. This works best on regular ballpoint pen ink. Blue ink is more easily erased than black ink.
Simply soak a cotton ball or cotton pad in the nail polish remover, and wipe it over the label. It will take a few passes to fully dissolve the ink from the box, but once it dries, youll be left with a perfectly service-able box.
Step 1: Soak a paper towel with some rubbing alcohol and use it to rub at the ink stain. Alternatively, you could apply some generic hairspray directly to the metal and wipe away with a paper towel. Step 2: Continue to apply either of these methods to the metal until you have completely removed the stain.
Compounding polish might do the trick as well, depending on what was used. If its permanent marker, you might have to get it buffed out. If that fails (or you want a DIY project) you can wet-sand it down gently with 600-800 grade paper, then buff/polish the clearcoat.
