Another great substance for getting permanent marker out of leather is WD-40, a lubricant that most people use to stop squeaky door hinges and such [source: Groth]. To use: Spray a little bit of WD-40 onto a clean paper towel or cloth. DO NOT spray it onto the leather directly, unless you want to totally overdo it.
The Magic Eraser or a related melamine sponge is a terrific multi-purpose tool that can be a true asset in the removal of stains including ink stains in your dryer. Dampen the sponge with warm water, squeeze out the excess fluid, then slowly begin to scrub the stained area gently.
If the stains are set in or have been present for a while, try this solution for a deep-clean. Spray WD-40 on the stain and behind the fabric as well. Wait approximately five minutes for WD-40 to break down the oil in ink. Do your laundry, as usual; the stain should come off.
There are three choices to remove permanent marker stains from a dryer that you may find success with. Magic Eraser- rub the stain with a dry Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Bar Keepers Friend- non-abrasive powder with a damp microfiber cloth. Nail polish remover with acetone.
Rubbing alcohol is often an effective way to remove ink from both the dryers drum and the paddles, which are the mechanisms that move your laundry around. Gently wipe the affected areas of the dryer with a sponge that has been saturated with rubbing alcohol.
The easiest way is to take a towel and soak it in a 1:1 mixture of warm water and bleach. Then wring out the towel, throw it in the dryer, and turn on the dryer until the towel is dry (about 20 minutes). Make sure you clean your dryer very well with fresh water after using bleach.
Removing pen, ballpoint or felt-tip ink stains from material like canvas and cotton is possible even after drying. With hand sanitizer and fabric treatment, you can remove stubborn stains.
Wet a cotton ball or washcloth with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol or surgical spirit) and scrub the ink off your skin. Rubbing alcohol is often your best bet for removing the oil-based ink found in most pens. It dissolves oils, allowing you to wipe the ink off your skin.
