a few months ago I proved that both Appleamp;#39;s desktop and laptop computers suffer from thermal throttling now for the uninitiated amongst you that means that the computeramp;#39;s components get so hot that they are forced to reduce the voltage and the clock speed and by extension lower the computeramp;#39;s performance just to make sure that the parts donamp;#39;t overheat nice that would go bueno but as it turns out to give Apple some credit I suppose their coolers are capable of more because on a follow-up video I demonstrated that when I replace the stock thermal paste which is the grease that you find in between the computer CPU and copper heatsink cooler which kind of helps the heat transfer between the two parts I was able to improve my 2017 13-inch MacBook Pros performance by about 7% on average and thatamp;#39;s actually quite a lot unfortunately it was still hitting 100 degrees Celsius and being throttled to about 2.9 gigahertz on my kb lake i 573 60 u cpu so thata

Rebuild the Spotlight index Choose Apple menu  System Settings. Click Siri Spotlight in the sidebar, then scroll down and click Spotlight Privacy on the right. Drag the disk or folder that you want to index again to the list of locations that Spotlight is prevented from searching.
A: It is the process where macOS creates a fast search index of the files on that Mac. That index allows the user to search for anything instantly on their Mac. That Apple index is how Mac users can search their Macs for any content 100 to 1,000 times faster than any Windows or Linux user can find on their computers.
For example, you may need to rebuild if messages appear to be missing or garbled, or if you cant find all relevant messages when you search using the Entire Message search option. In the Mail app on your Mac, select a mailbox in the sidebar. Choose Mailbox Rebuild.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu System Settings, then click Siri Spotlight in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Click Spotlight Privacy in the lower right, then do any of the following: Exclude files in a folder or disk from Spotlight searches: Click the Add button , then select a folder or disk.
Open File Explorer. Right-click on your hard drive (Usually C), and click Properties. Check or uncheck the box next to Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties. Click on OK.
If your Spotlight is stuck indexing your files or the process is taking up too much CPU, you can resolve that issue with a simple Terminal command. To turn off Spotlight indexing: Open Terminal. Type sudo mdutil -i off.
