For sites that youve verified ownership for in your Webmaster Tools account, youll now see a new option under the Diagnostic tab called URL Removals. To get started, simply click the URL Removals link, then New Removal Request. Choose the option that matches the type of removal youd like.
To ensure that a page is not indexed by Google, remove the robots. txt block and use a noindex directive.
3 Answers You need to go to Google Search Console. On the sidebar, click Google Index and then select Delete URLs. Press Create a new deletion request. Enter the URL in the appropriate form. Select Remove page from search results and cache and click Submit Request.
Add a noindex tag to your page. A noindex tag only blocks your page from showing up in Google search results. Users and other search engines that dont support noindex can still access your page.
There are two ways to implement noindex : as a tag and as an HTTP response header. They have the same effect; choose the method that is more convenient for your site and appropriate for the content type. Specifying the noindex rule in the robots.txt file is not supported by Google.
Use noindex meta tags If content has already been indexed by search engines, you can add a noindex meta tag to instruct search engines to stop indexing it in the future. Please note: this method should not be combined with the robots. txt method, as this will prevent search engines from seeing the noindex tag.
To tell search engines not to index your page, simply add the following to the section: Alternatively, the noindex tag can be used in an X-Robots-Tag in the HTTP header: Disallow: /your-page-url. Disallow: /directory/ User-agent: *
If you wish to explicitly block a page from being indexed, use the noindex robots meta tag or X-Robots-Tag HTTP header instead. In this case, you should not disallow the page in robots. txt because the page must be crawled for the tag to be seen and obeyed.
