Unlike in Microsoft Word, there is no keyboard shortcut to add highlight to text in PowerPoint. However, you can use this simple keyboard sequence: Press the Alt and H keys together, then quickly type in T and C in quick succession, and finally press the Enter key.
If you have PowerPoint 2010, 2013 or 2016 and are not an Office 365 subscriber, the Text Highlight Color command is not available in the Ribbon. However, you can copy highlighting from Microsoft Word and paste it into your PowerPoint slides. You would typically apply highlighting in Normal view.
To highlight text in PowerPoint using Word: Type the word that you want to highlight. Click and drag over the word to select it. In the Home tab, click on the arrow just to the right of the Text Highlight Color tool icon. Select the color you want to highlight with.
Control + I Activate the Highlighter to highlight or draw on slides. Repeat the shortcut to deactivate this ink tool. Control + A Revert to the arrow pointer. Control + M Hide all ink marks on the slide.
