Go to Design Page Borders. In the Borders and Shading box, on the Page Border tab, select the arrow next to Apply to and choose the page (or pages) you want to remove the border from. Under Setting, select None, and then select OK.
Select the text you want to use as a heading. On the Home tab, click the heading style you want to use. If you dont see the style you want, click a left, right, or down arrow to see more available styles.
To remove the header/footer area, click in the header and select Options. Change the header/footer margin to 0 (zero) inches from the top/bottom. Next, change the top/bottom margin of your document to zero as well via File Page setup Margins.
Select Layout Breaks Next Page. Double-click the header or footer on the first page of the new section. Click Link to Previous to turn it off and unlink the header or footer from the previous section.
CTRL-SPACE removes character-level formatting from the selected text (fonts, italics/bold, font size, etc.) but leaves paragraph formatting (indents, line spacing, etc.) intact. CTRL-Q leaves fonts and other character formatting intact but reverts paragraph-level formatting to Normal Style of current document.
To change the Outline level without messing up the rest of the formatting, select the text and then type SHIFT + ALT + left/right arrow. If you want to downgrade a paragraph from heading (level 1) or subheading (level 2) to body text, use the right arrow, if you want to upgrade to a higher level use the left arrow.
