If Iamp;#39;m right, thereamp;#39;s a huge amount of biology still to be discovered, processes well beyond what youamp;#39;ll find in the textbooks today. The experimental facts are already clear. Neo-Darwinism is dead. Does the claim that Neo-Darwinism is quote-unquote dead overstate, accurately state, or understate your position? Well, it more or less accurately states it, I think. The fact is that there are four major foundations of the Neo-Darwinist position. That DNA is a self-replicator, it isnamp;#39;t. That the Weissmann barrier protects the eggs and sperm from being affected by the body, well, it doesnamp;#39;t. Weamp;#39;ve shown that information can travel from the body to the germline, and that the central dogma, as itamp;#39;s called, which is that DNA is used to make proteins, but proteins are never used to make DNA, doesnamp;#39;t prevent organisms, when they need to, to change their DNA. To date, research has primarily focused on two types of deception: Lying by commission the active use of false statements and lying by omission the passive act of misleading by failing to disclose relevant information, said lead author Todd Rogers, PhD, of Harvard University.
There are sins of commission and sins of omission; omitting information and concealing the truth are considered lies when they are done with an intent to deceive. In addition to statements that are false, deception encompasses statements that misrepresent or distort facts as well as the withholding of information.
Sometimes people may choose not to reveal certain information, which is called a lie of omission. A lie of omission is when someone intentionally withholds relevant information, leading the other person to believe something untrue. This type of deception can be just as harmful as a blatant lie, if not more so.
Not everyone believes that omitting details is the same as lying, and its true there can be a gray area when it comes to divulging information. Not every detail is necessary for accuracy, but deliberately misrepresenting the truth by hiding some of the facts is considered lying by omission.
Omission of a material fact means the failure to state a material fact required to be stated in any disclosure statement or registration in order to make the disclosure statement or registration, in light of the circumstances under which they were made, not misleading.
Silence alone generally cant be used as evidence of guilt. Refusing to answer questions may be wiser than lying. But beware falsely denying knowledge of a crime under oath is still perjury. And lying by omission can still be obstruction if you intentionally leave out major facts.
