even if you dont have a rotary attachment even still in grade on round surfaces such as a wineglass all you have to do is create a bed for the glass to sit yeah here I have just a plastic gladware container filled with rice and it holds the blast to keep it from wobbling around inside the laser bed when Im engraving with this process I manually focus so I set my item in the laser bed Im going to transfer to a glass that has not been engraved on and there was a reason why I actually have rice inside the glass I can set this glass in here but you can see that its bottom heavy so it tilts up so the rice inside of the glass I use it too I switch towards the front of the glass and holds the front of the glass down so when I manually focus I am looking forward to focus on the lowest point of where I will be engraving so right here is the highest point I go to the side my engraving is about this wide and I focus it on the lowest point of which Ill be waiting so it is focused in that area

The process of engraving wood with a laser etcher may result in residue that remains on the surface. If this occurs from time to time, then one option is to mask off the surface. This can be done by using a common masking tape.
Depending on the depth of the engraving and complexity of the marks on a piece, a jeweller will use a combination of laser work, gold filling and polishing to level out the metal and buff out any damage to make it smooth and blank.
Fixing engravings is easiest for wood, plastic and glass surfaces. Metal surfaces are difficult to remove, but you can add additional engraving to metal to disguise an error.
To remove an engraving, it has to be lasered off the metal in the area of the inscription to level out the texture of the metal. After the engraving is lasered off the ring will need to be polished to restore the ring to a smooth blank surface.
What is Laser Engraving? The laser engraving process releases enormous energy acting like a chisel to the workpieces surface to create deep and permanent designs.
To clean your laser engraved wood, dab your paper towel in vinegar (you can also use a soft piece of cloth) and then use it to wipe off the residue on your wood. Simply repeat the process until you are satisfied with the result.
If the engraving is misspelled, you will probably have to erase it entirely. If there is a smaller mistake, you can fix it by engraving over it, adding to the design or erasing a small part of the design.
Remove the engraving Beginning with the finest sandpaper start to buff the engraved area, stopping to wash and buff dry at regular intervals and increasing the grit until the engraving is gone. If even the most coarse grit sandpaper is not removing the engraving, use a metal file.
