This is used to extend insurance coverage to recreational vehicles, motor homes, motorcycles, motorized golf carts and other miscellaneous vehicles that are not already covered under the policy.
A personal auto policy (PAP) refers to a standard insurance policy issued to personal drivers. The Insurance Services Office developed the PAP as a way to standardize personal insurance. PAP covers: Personal vehicles. Pickup trucks or vans that weigh less than 10,000 pounds.
Under liability coverage, the following people are protected: The named insured or family member (child, spouse). Anyone who is allowed to drive the insureds covered vehicle. Anyone driving for an organization to which the insured lends their covered vehicle (the organization is also protected).
Miscellaneous type vehicle endorsement permits the use of non-owned vehicles provided as a business car for the insured. This endorsement provides coverage for costs paid in the case of a complete theft.
Your PAP excludes all coverage - liability, uninsured / underinsured motorist, medical payments and physical damage - if your vehicle is: Used as a public or livery conveyance (the public pickup and delivery of people - like a taxi cab, limo or shuttle; or goods - like a public delivery or freight company).
Under a Personal Auto Policy with a miscellaneous vehicle endorsement, motorcycles are typically excluded from coverage. Therefore, the correct answer is option b. Motorcycles.
An unendorsed PAP corresponds to the basic, standardized policy issued by an insurance company. It typically provides the broadest set of coverages that meet minimum legal requirements but may not cover all potential risks. On the other hand, an endorsed PAP involves modifications or additions to the standard policy.
The Miscellaneous-Type Vehicle Endorsement to the PAP covers motorcycles, motor homes, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), dune buggies and other types of vehicles that are otherwise excluded by the policy. All of the following vehicles are eligible for coverage under the PAP EXCEPT: A) private passenger auto.
