Place your cursor in the Scene Heading of the scene you want to omit; Go to Production Omit Scene. This will replace the Scene Heading information with Omitted. Click on the right-pointing arrow to either view or unomit the scene.
FADE OUT is used at the end of the last scene to indicate the end of the screenplay. FADE OUT (punctuated with a period) is typed at the right margin and is followed by a period. The words THE END (capitalized, underlined, and centered on the page) always follow FADE OUT.
If you need to change any of the attributes of any of the elements that comprise a script, go to Format Elements (Mac) or Format Element Settings (Windows). Here you will find controls and settings for each element (Scene Heading, Character Name, Dialogue, etc.).
How do I insert a hard return (line break)? Press Enter / Return when the blinking cursor is somewhere in a line of text (pressing Enter / Return at the end of a line will insert a new paragraph).
When that immediately follows a verb of attribution (said, stated, announced, disclosed), it often can be omitted and the meaning will stay the same. Example: She said (that) it was all a hoax. Better to omit that here. When a time element intervenes between the verb and the dependent clause, that should be used.
To omit a scene Place the cursor in the scene to be omitted; Choose Production Omit Scene.
