to delete an embedded chart from a worksheet you must first select the chart area you can do this by selecting chart area from the chart elements drop-down menu in the current selection button group on the format tab in the chart tools contextual tab in the ribbon next press the Delete key on your keyboard to delete the chart object from the worksheet if you have placed the chart on its own worksheet in the workbook then you should delete the worksheet that contains the chart to remove it from the workbook entirely you can right click on the worksheet tab that contains the chart and then choose the delete command from the pop-up menu that appears in the confirmation message box that then opens click the delete button to permanently remove the worksheet chart

Click anywhere in the chart. This displays the Chart Tools, adding the Design, Layout, and Format tabs. On the Format tab, in the Current Selection group, click the arrow next to the Chart Elements box, and then select the chart element that you want to format.
Chart elements can also be removed by simply selecting and deleting. Here I can click to select the data labels, and then delete. Then I can use the chart elements menu to enable the vertical axis again. Its also important to know that you can freely move many chart elements freely.
In Word and PowerPoint: Select your chart and then on the Chart Design tab, click Edit Data in Excel. In Excel, select the category title and then in the Home tab, click Sort Filter Filter. Next, click the drop-down arrow to select the data you want to show, and deselect the data you dont want to show.
To remove a chart title, on the Layout tab, in the Labels group, click Chart Title, and then click None.
To delete a chart in Excel, first select the chart by clicking on it. Then, press the Delete key on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can right-click on the chart and select Delete from the context menu. If you accidentally delete a chart, you can press the Ctrl+Z keys to undo the deletion.
Select the data, go to insert menu -- Charts -- Line Chart. Add Data Label Element to The Chart. To add the data labels to the chart, click on the plus sign and click on the data labels. Add Vertical Gridlines to the Chart. Remove Chart Title Element From the Chart.
On a chart, click the chart element that you want to change, or do the following to select it from a list of chart elements: Click a chart. On the Format tab, in the Current Selection group, click the arrow next to the Chart Elements box, and then click the chart element that you want to use.
To remove chart elements, simply select the chart, and immediately, you should see these buttons up here to the right of the chart as well as some contextual tabs up here on the ribbon. Clicking the green plus sign next to the right of the chart will open up your chart elements window for your chosen chart type.
