Captions can be listed at the beginning of a paper or report in a List of Tables or a List of Figures section by using the \listoftables or \listoffigures commands, respectively. The caption used for each figure will appear in these lists, along with the figure numbers, and page numbers that they appear on.
Caption. It is usually beneficial to include caption to your images. To do so, simply use the command \caption{text} either below or above your figure (usually below for images and above for tables).
Its really easy, just add the \caption{Some caption} and inside the braces write the text to be shown. The placement of the caption depends on where you place the command; if its above the \includegraphics then the caption will be on top of it, if its below then the caption will also be set below the figure.
Add captions On the References tab, in the Captions group, click Insert Caption. In the Label list, select the label that best describes the object, such as a figure or equation. If the list doesnt provide the label you want, click New Label, type the new label in the Label box, and then click OK.
To add a caption to a figure, table, or other object: Right-click the object you wish to caption and select Insert Caption from the pop-up menu. To get this option for tables, you can hover your cursor over the table and right-click the crosshair icon that appears at the top-left corner of the table.
It is likely the hidden caption is under one of your figures in a text box. On the Home tab activate the Selection Pane and use that to find the caption. Once you have the text box selected, you can move it, change its wrapping, or delete it and create a new Caption.
To delete a caption select it and press Delete. When youre finished deleting captions, you should update the remaining set of captions in your document. Press CTRL+A to select all of the text in your document and then press F9 to update all.
Just like in floats (tables and figures), captions can be added to a listing for a more clear presentation. Adding the comma-separated parameter caption=Python example inside the brackets, enables the caption. This caption can be later used in the list of Listings.
