When youve opened the Insert Caption dialog box, check the box to exclude label from caption. Enter the caption you want and click OK. Word will enter the caption as a text box with the picture (or figure, or table, etc.). Now you can simply edit the text in the text box and delete the number.
If you dont want to give a sub-figure a caption, because the picture itself already contains the caption, or for some other reason, you can use the command \phantomsubcaption instead of \subcaption , or when inside a subfigure or subtable environment \phantomcaption instead of \caption .
From the References ribbon, select Insert Caption . To use a simple integer with no printed label, check the box for Exclude label from caption .
To delete a caption select it and press Delete. When youre finished deleting captions, you should update the remaining set of captions in your document. Press CTRL+A to select all of the text in your document and then press F9 to update all.
First, include the caption package in your LaTeX document by adding the following line to your preamble: \usepackage{caption}. Once this is done, you can change the font size of captions by using the command \captionsetup{font=small} (or any other desired font size).
To remove Chapter Number from Captions, select one of the caption fields (your example 4.2. 5-3), Reference tab, Caption group, Insert Caption, click Numbering button, uncheck Include Chapter Numbering. Do this for one of the Figure captions and one of the Table captions, and all the others will follow suit.
If you want to remove line numbers from multiple sections, select the sections. On the Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Line Numbers. Do one of the following: To remove line numbers from the entire document or section, click None.
