To remove a header from the second page, but keep it on the first page, make sure you enable Different First Page from Insert Header. Delete any text thats in the header area for the second page.
Place your cursor in the first page of the document or the first page of the section. Double-click inside the header or footer area to open the Header Footer tab (see figure 8). Select Different First Page in the Options group.
In order to have a header only on the first page of the document, that first page must also be its own section. Start with View menu : Show Page Thumbnails. Now, Insert menu : Section (not section break). This blank section will now appear as an empty thumbnail at the end of the documents thumbnail gallery.

In the Document sidebar, click the Document tab. Deselect the Header or Footer checkbox.
On the View menu, click the Insert tab and click Header. Look toward the bottom of the list that appears and click Edit header. Click the box that says Different first page.
