If you are training for an obstacle course race (OCR), you will find yourself well-prepared with the programming at Crossfit Thunderbolt.
Written by Mark Barroso. Obstacle course racing, or OCR, is the sport that mixes running and pre-constructed obstacles to challenge your mind and body in a unique way. There are competitive heats, where you can earn cash prizes or just-for-fun heats where you get to play in the mud like a 10-year-old.
Most competitors do at least 3-5 sessions a week, alternating their days of running with strength and event-specific training. Some elite OCR athletes bump up to 5-6 times a week. Runs should be in the hour to two-hour range at a moderate pace. Work on good form and breathing.
Measuring OCR accuracy is done by taking the output of an OCR run for an image and comparing it to the original version of the same text. You can then either count how many characters were detected correctly (character level accuracy), or count how many words were recognized correctly (word level accuracy).
OCR stands for Obstacle Course Racing, a sport in which a race participants must overcome various physical challenges on the course that is in the form of obstacles.
