this is a video about how to convert a non OCR PDF into an OCR PDF so that students can use they text-to-speech function in read and write so here I have a PDF I open it from my Google Drive and now Im going to go ahead and open it with read and write because I want to use the text-to-speech function and Im gonna see that this is not possible because its a non OCR PDF and here you see this message right up here its telling me cannot see any letter so this is essentially a picture it doesnt recognize the individual letters however we can try to convert it to an OCR document so that it can be read now with read and write you can try and use the screenshot reader go ahead and click on this and select a word or two or sentence it will sometimes read it to you absolutely so it depends on how clean the document is and it depends on the amount of text so its not a great option for a lot of text but it can work with a small amounts of text but lets see if we can convert this to an OCR t

Open a PDF file containing a scanned image in Acrobat for Mac or PC. Click on the Edit PDF tool in the right pane. Acrobat automatically applies optical character recognition (OCR) to your document and converts it to a fully editable copy of your PDF.
