hi today were going to show you how to do duck scenes for your puppy we use the five way vaccine for our puppies are cute little English bulldogs the reason why we do this at home is because not only do our dogs not like the vet its very stressful to go to the vet and its real cost effective especially when you have seven puppies in a litter to just go ahead and buy these these are like five or six dollars online at a doctor foster so we just buy these instead today we have a little male English Bulldog thats going to be getting his first vaccine and so again we have the vaccine we have some alcohol pads here and these particular pads we just picked up at Target I believe and then we have just for a distraction is some Skippy peanut butter we like to use this Skippy cream and we put that on a spoon just so the puppies you know could pay attention to that and not the shot and of course pearl and we just squeeze a little bit on our hands just so we dont have to pass on any germs so

Puppies are vaccinated against parvo at approximately 6, 8, and 12 weeks of age. They are vulnerable to the disease until they have received all three shots in their vaccination series, which means owners need to take extra precaution during this time to prevent their puppies from contracting the virus.
Vets say getting core vaccines every year amounts to over-vaccination - whicih can over-stimulate your pets immune system. Over-stimulation of the immune system can be problematic, said veterinarian Deborah Wolf. There are potentials for - especially in cats - injection site cancers.
Do vaccines provide 100% protection? Vaccines have been highly successful in protecting the majority of dogs against disease. As a direct result of vaccination, previously common diseases such as distemper are now rare.
While no vaccine is 100% effective, rabies infection is rare in vaccinated dogs. In one study, 4.9% of cases of rabid dogs had a history of prior rabies vaccination. Vaccination efforts can provide protection for dogs exposed to potentially rabid animals even if they are overdue for a rabies booster vaccine.
Parvo Prevention Parvo is a preventable disease, but even vaccinated dogs are not 100% protected from the virus. Vaccines for the parvovirus are recommended for all puppies and are usually given in a series of three shots when the pup is between 6-to-8 weeks old, again at 10-to-12 weeks, and at 14-to-16 weeks.
At 6 weeks, only 52% of the puppies had developed an immune response. At 9 weeks, 88% of the puppies responded. At 12 weeks, 100% of the puppies responded.
Although most of our vaccines have a very high success rate in dogs, none produces immunity in 100% of the dogs being vaccinated. While vaccine programs are designed to maximize immunity, it is important to recognize that they do not provide 100% immunity against the disease.
Core vaccines are considered vital to all pets based on risk of exposure, severity of disease or transmissibility to humans. For Dogs: Vaccines for canine parvovirus, distemper, canine hepatitis and rabies are considered core vaccines. Non-core vaccines are given depending on the dogs exposure risk.
