Appointment templates allow you to block off times for specific types of appointments on your calendar. For instance, here in my surgery exam room, I only want to see surgery patients. So when I click in to schedule an appointment at any time in this calendar, it will automatically apply my surgery appointment profile. It simply removes the extra step of having to remember to apply that appointment profile, and it makes it a little easier for your staff. Lets go over how to set up the appointment template. Go to Schedule, Appointment Templates, and click the green Add New Template button. Select the office and the exam room that you want to apply this to, and the days that you want to apply. For instance, maybe Mondays and Wednesdays I like to only see new patients in the mornings. I can set the start time here, and set the duration. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is the process that converts an image of text into a machine-readable text format. For example, if you scan a form or a receipt, your computer saves the scan as an image file. You cannot use a text editor to edit, search, or count the words in the image file.
Open a PDF file containing a scanned image in Acrobat for Mac or PC. Click on the Edit PDF tool in the right pane. Acrobat automatically applies optical character recognition (OCR) to your document and converts it to a fully editable copy of your PDF. Click the text element you wish to edit and start typing.

An O.C.R. program takes an additional step by analyzing the scanned image and converting the picture of the words into the actual words themselves.
