Fix the EPUB with 3 steps 1Install a Zip software. There are 2 mainstream free Zip softwares, WinZip and 7-Zip. 2UnZip the EPUB file. Use Zip software to unzip the EPUB file. 3Re-Zip the file and change extension name to EPUB. We are not missing any step, yes we just need to zip the folder again.
You can get books on your Kindle reader by buying directly from Amazons store, but if you have EPUB files (such as from Project Gutenberg) you have the ability to read them directly on your Kindle. This was once a somewhat tricky procedure, relatively speaking, but has gotten increasingly easier over time.
EPUB is the most widely accepted and functional e-book format. MOBI is an older format that became the basis for AZW3, Amazons proprietary format used for Kindle devices. If possible, you should always leave books in the format that they came in originally.
We support books in EPUB format that meet the specifications outlined in the Kindle Publishing Guidelines. Use any third-party tool available on the internet to create your EPUB file. We recommend validating the file with Kindle Previewer before you upload your book.
BEWARE: In order for your ePub to be accepted and work on a Kindle, you need to ensure your ebook was properly formatted with the correct front loading capability and new Amazon specifications. Using a book formatting tool like Atticus.io your book should be fine.
Summary: Which format? For narrative ebooks with a few images and simple formatting, the older EPUB and Amazon mobi formats are still the best choices. EPUB3 and KF8 provide a better choice than the older formats for ebooks that need more advanced formatting and features. But they still have limited distribution.
Kindle with Enhanced Typesetting adjusts without customer intervention when the font size is large or the line length is short on the device page, to improve readability by preventing large gaps between words or squished text.
Upload Via Send to Kindle On amazon.com/sendtokindle, click Select files from device and select the book you want on your Kindle. This tool supports PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, RTF, HTM, HTML, PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG, BMP, and EPUB formats on ebooks up to 200MB in size. (Amazon no longer supports sending new Mobi files.)
