Asc returns the code point, or character code, for the input character. This can be 0 through 255 for single-byte character set (SBCS) values and -32768 through 32767 for double-byte character set (DBCS) values. AscW returns the Unicode code point for the input character. This can be 0 through 65535.
Returns the Unicode value of the first character in a string expression.
The ASC function converts full-width ASCII and Katakana characters to their half-width counterparts. All standard-width characters remain unchanged by the ASC function.
The Asc function in VBA returns an integer value representing a character code corresponding to the functions first character of a supplied string (string provided as argument/parameter). It can be used or given in a macro code generally entered via Visual Basic Editor.
