you asked for videos on ACLs and NAT on a si firewalls well Ive heard you and here it is in this video we start with ACLs and we move to notes in part two but lets not waste any time lets get right into it were going to approach ACLs by using a lab we have an internal network which is a switch and two workstations this is safely placed behind our a si firewall on the inside interface we also have a server this is our intranet web page and is also our DNS server it needs to be accessible by people both inside and outside the network so its located in the DMZ or perhaps DMZ if you prefer but Im Australian so Im going to say DMZ on the outside interface we have a router to represent our connection to the Internet and a webserver to represent a resource on the internet that we want to access were keeping this simple so we can focus on the ACLs so some of this lab is pre-configured where decrementing TTL by default and ICMP inspection is enabled were also only going to use ipv4 I h

The Implicit Deny is a function the switch automatically adds as the last action in all ACLs. It denies (drops) any IPv4 traffic from any source to any destination that has not found a match with earlier entries in the ACL.
The implicit deny any or deny ip any any for extended ACLs applies for all existing configured ACLs (with at least one statement).
Every access list ends with an implicit deny all rule. In the case that traffic does not match any of the configured rules, it is handled by the implicit deny, and the traffic is dropped. This rule cannot be deleted or modified.
ACLs are a collection of permit and deny conditions, called rules, that provide security by blocking unauthorized users and allowing authorized users to access specific resources. ACLs can block any unwarranted attempts to docHub network resources. The WAP device supports up to 50 IPv4, IPv6, and MAC ACL rules.
What types of Access Control Lists are there? On Cisco routers, there are two main types: standard and extended. These two types are the most widely used ACLs, but there are some advanced ACLs as well. Some of the advanced ACLs include reflexive ACLs and dynamic ACLs and they are defined as follows.
Another way to look at it is this, a bouncer at a nightclub with a list of people allowed in is an example of Implicit Deny. Anyone not falling into that allowed list is denied entry.
Implicit Deny basically means that the default answer to whether a communication is allowed to transit the firewall is always No or Deny. Therefore, the majority of Access Rules tend to be Allow. A firewall will process a communication, inbound or outbound, based on the highest priority rule to the lowest.
If needed, enter the show ip access-list command to display the rules of the relevant ACL. To delete a rule by sequence number, enter the no sequence command, specifying the sequence number. To delete a rule by content, enter the no permit command, specifying the rule content.
