Use the ABS function to Change all Negative Numbers to Positive. Excel has a dedicated function that strips out the negative sign and gives you the absolute value.
Specifically: The negation of 0 is 0, and. The negation of a negative number is the corresponding positive number.
Change positive numbers to negative or vice versa with Kutools for Excel Select the range you want to change. Click Kutools Content Change Sign of Values, see screenshot: And in the Change Sign of Values dialog box, select Change all positive values to negative option. Then click OK or Apply.
Click Number tab, click Custom Option, on right-hand side, under Type text box select General , and in the Type text box, enter a minus sign like this: -General and click OK.
Below are the steps to reverse the sign using Paste Special: In any empty cell in the worksheet, enter -1. Copy this cell (which has the value -1) Select the range where you want to reverse the sign. Right-click on any of the selected cells. Click on Paste Special. In the Paste option, select Values
Enter the formula In the column next to your data range, insert an ABS formula using the position of the first value. For example, if your data begins in cell A1 enter the formula =-ABS(A1) in cell B2 and press Enter. This returns the negative value of the number in the cell.
