Saving a high-quality PNG in Photoshop is easy and straightforward. First, open the image you want to save as a PNG file. Then go to File Save As and select PNG from the drop-down menu next to Format. You can also adjust the settings for compression, color depth, transparency, etc., if needed.
To do this, go to Image Image Size and enter the desired size in the Width and Height fields. Make sure that the Constrain Proportions box is checked to maintain the aspect ratio of the image.
1. Free Transform Technique Start by Selecting the layer you want to edit in the Layers Panel. Access the top bar and click on Edit. Once the Transform tool is active, a blue border will appear around the layer. Move the Edge to your desired dimensions. Lastly, Release the cursor to finish resizing the picture.
If you need to resize an image in Photoshop without losing quality, you can also change the resolution. A high-quality image usually has a 300 DPI/PPI resolution. Set the Resample Image to Bicubic Sharper. This setting will give you the best quality image. Then, enter the new image width and height you desire.
When you change the size of the image, Photoshop has to recreate the pixels. Photoshop needs to know how to jam the pixels together and which ones to throw away when you scale down.
For most sharing and storage purposes, though, youll get better results using the JPG image file format. Open your image in Photoshop. Go to File Export As In the Export As menu, choose JPG as your file type. Move the Quality slider to the left to reduce file size and quality.
How to Compress JPEG Images Open Microsoft Paint. Pick an image, then use the resize button. Choose your preferred image dimensions. Tick the maintain aspect ratio box. Click on OK. Save the photo.
Holding down Shift + Alt (Windows) or Shift + Option (Mac) while clicking and dragging a handle will resize an object proportionally from its center if you click a corner handle, or will adjust opposite sides equally if you are using a side handle.
