hello this is Justin at the tech train here thank you for watching today Im going to show you a very quick tip that will show you in Microsoft Excel how you can format numbers so that positive numbers appear black with an up arrow next to them and negative numbers appear red with a down arrow next to them and there is no conditional formatting involved to begin with Im just going to put a quick formula in here which will allow me to generate randomly numbers between negative 10,000 and positive 10,000 like that and then going to replicate this down and Im going to center line this so its a little easier to see so we can reload this spreadsheet now by pressing f9 on our keyboard little randomly generates a mixture of positive and negative numbers as you can see so this is what were then going to do were going to select these cells here and were not going to use conditional formatting what were going to do instead is look at this section in the Home tab which is labeled number a
