In a Word document, select the quoted text, then click Layout on the ribbon. Set the left indent to 0.5cm, and click the Enter key. Use the arrows in the indent size box to increase or decrease the indentation. You will then see that the block quote has been created.
Block quotations start on their own line. The entire block quotation is indented 0.5 inches, the same as the indentation for a new paragraph, and is double spaced. Block quotations are not surrounded by any quotation marks.
Turn smart quotes on or off In the dialog, select the Proofing tab, then select AutoCorrect Options. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, do the following: Select the AutoFormat As You Type tab, and under Replace as you type, select or clear the Straight quotes with smart quotes check box.
