If you have a lot of old negatives laying around somewhere in your cupboard or your old photo albums just like so. What a better way to kill time rather than trying to develop them in Photoshop? Doesnt that sound like a good experiment? It actually is. And the great news is, its possible. However, the quality of the image that comes out of these negatives depends upon three things. Number one - lighting. How you light these negatives when you take a picture of them. Number two, of course - the lens. How much can the lens magnify this film? So if you have a macro lens, that would be the best. And number three, obviously - the quality of the film. Now here comes the important question - how do we take a picture of this film? Simple, make the screen of your phone white or run a widescreen video and then keep the film in front of it and simply take a picture. Make sure not any other light in the room is falling on this film and then take a picture. It would be best if its a dark room. H

Best for photo prints Shooting in RAW allows you to get the best quality out of your photos especially when printing canvas prints, framed prints, and other types of wall art for your space.
Because the image you see on your screen and the image printed on a piece of paper are created by two completely different mediums. To explain, the difference between printed images and images on a computer monitor in the simplest terms possible is, its all about light. The fact is, you cant print light.
The main reason this occurs is because the brightness level on the computer monitor is too high. Its common with newer monitors, many of which are designed for gaming and have their brightness levels set higher by default.
The age-old question remains Should I be shooting my images in RAW or JPEG?. The answer to that question really boils down to your end goal. If you are taking your camera out with the intent to capture high-quality imagery for printing purposes, RAW should always be your go-to.
Negatives are usually formed on a transparent material, such as plastic or glass. Exposure of sensitized paper through the negative, done either by placing the negative and paper in close contact or by projecting the negative image onto the paper, reverses these tones and produces a positive photographic print.
Digital screens emit light, which is why colors on your monitor and phone will appear brighter and more vibrant. Your printer, however, uses dyes and pigments that dont produce light but, absorb itlike that apple. This is why printed colors often look duller and less saturated then what you see on your screen.
For the highest quality photo prints, we generally recommend 300 DPI. (This is what youll hear referred to as a gicle print sometimes.) However, most images will still look good and avoid pixelation at 150 DPI or above. Simply put: Dont blow up photos to more than double what the max size was at full quality.
One really common problem with printed images is that, compared to the photo on screen, they look really drab and dark. This is because screens and printed images are fundamentally different things: a screen displays images by directly emitting light while a print reflects the ambient light.
