Hi, this is Gary with MacMost.com. Today let me show you how to use Advanced Text Options on your Mac. MacMost is brought to you thanks to a great group of more than 800 supporters. Go to MacMost.com/patreon. There you can read more about the Patreon Campaign. Join us and get exclusive content and course discounts. Now in Pages, Numbers, and Keynote you can select text and change things about it. Change the Font. Change the size, change the style. But there are some advanced options hidden behind a single button in those three apps. So here I am in Pages. Now if I select some text, say here in the body of a word processing document, or if I create a text box and select some text in there I can go to the Format sidebar and then under Style I can change things about the text. For instance I can change the font thats being used. I can change the size and I could change things like the exact style thats used. I have quick access to certain things like Bold

With your document open in Pages on Mac, click View Show Invisibles from the menu bar. You should immediately see the formatting symbols in your current document. Updated October 3rd, 2020. Theres a keyboard shortcut for toggling invisible characters (like paragraph marks, and spaces, and tabs) in Microsoft Word on a Mac and as far as I know its worked in every version, since the very beginning. Command-8 does it. Command-8 to show them, Command-8 again to hide them.
Heres how: Press Command/Control+F on the keyboard. A small tab will appear in the top-right corner. After selecting Line break, choose the Select All option. Now all you have to do is click the delete key from your keyboard and this will remove all line breaks from your document.
If the toggle button didnt work, you may try this method: From the File tab, select Options. Click the Display tab. In the section Always show these formatting marks on the screen, un-check everything except Object Anchors. Press OK.
With Spelling and Grammar check turned on, Pages will notify you of questionable misspelled words with a red underline and debatable grammar with a green underline. Proofreading. A pop-out box will appear. Slide down and click on Check Spelling as You Type or Proofread as You Type to turn off that feature.
