hey there everyone and welcome to the regex training so in this video were gonna talk about one more character set and well understand how it works now this is very very simple compared to what we have learned in the previous character this is known as negation or negative character set now it is exactly similar if you have programmed in any language whether its a C JavaScript Ruby Perl Python we do have this symbol which is used for naught so if the condition is like true and if we place this negative character or the negation character there it just turns or flips the condition so it is true but now if youll see this as a whole it will become as a false now similarly in the regex we do have such kind of character which is just placed above your 6 so play a so press shift + 6 and this is the tiny I dont know what even to call this but this is the negation character set here and the only thing that you have to understand here which is do take care of this always use this negation

You can remove substrings matching the regular expression (regex) with sub() in the regular expression module re . The following example uses the regular expression pattern \d+ , which matches a sequence of one or more numbers. 123 and 789 are replaced by the empty string and deleted.
Negation: [^] It defines the symbol as the negation variant of the character class. It matches all the characters that are not specified in the character class in regex in java.
An regex of [^abdfgh] will match any single character which is NOT one of a, b, d, f, g or h. This is a negated character class, and is indicated by the ^ character at the start of the character class. The character ^ has a special meaning at the start of the character class.
Similarly, the negation variant of the character class is defined as [^ ] (with ^ within the square braces), it matches a single character which is not in the specified or set of possible characters. For example the regular expression [^abc] matches a single character except a or, b or, c.
How to ignore a string if contains certain match using RegExp ^ matches the begining of the string; $ matches the end of the the string; (?! ) is a negative lookahead, in other words, it matches double quotes but negate it (dont pick up); ( .)* matches everything else except the previous match (double quote)
Similarly, the negation variant of the character class is defined as [^ ] (with ^ within the square braces), it matches a single character which is not in the specified or set of possible characters. For example the regular expression [^abc] matches a single character except a or, b or, c.
Well, a negative set is essentially just a normal set, but with a huge shift in emphasis. Instead of your usual set pattern where you may do some reps at a reasonable pace with the same rest time, this time youre changing it up.
