Letamp;#39;s have some practice adding and subtracting negative numbers. So the first example I want to look at is 2 minus 3. So right now Iamp;#39;m just subtracting a positive number from another positive number, but you might already see that Iamp;#39;m subtracting a larger number from a smaller number. So Iamp;#39;m probably, or I will, definitely end up with a negative number. But letamp;#39;s just think about this a little bit. And Iamp;#39;m going to do it with a number line. So thereamp;#39;s my number line right over there. Now this is 0, this is 1, this is 2, this is negative 1, this is negative 2. We could view this as starting at 2. So this is 2 right over here, and then weamp;#39;re going to subtract 3 from that 2. So weamp;#39;re going to move 3 to the left on the number line. So weamp;#39;re going to move 3 to the left, 1, 2, 3. And that gets us to negative 1. This is equal to negative 1. Now letamp;#39;s mix it up a little bit more. Letamp;#39;s imagine what

In assembly language, you can use the NEG instruction to perform bitwise negation on a register or a memory operand. The NEG instruction subtracts the operand from zero and stores the result in the same operand. The NEG instruction affects the carry, overflow, sign, zero, and parity flags ing to the result.
Use the abs() method //given negative integer. let n = -20; //print original n. console. log(Given negative integer n = //convert n to positive integer. n = Math. abs(n)
In assembly language, to check if a number is negative or not, we can use the signed arithmetic instructions. The most common way to do this is by using the CMP instruction to compare the number with zero.
This is a general method in which we will first check whether the number is already positive or negative, if the number is negative then we will multiply the number by -1 to make it positive.
In assembly, comments are usually denoted by a semicolon ; , although GAS uses # for single line comments and /* */ for block comments possibly spanning multiple lines.
Multiplying by -1 Using the multiplying by -1 method is an efficient way to convert numbers to negative numbers.
Its first (leftmost) bit is 1, which means that this represents a number that is negative. Thats just the way that things are in twos complement: a leading 1 means the number is negative, a leading 0 means the number is 0 or positive. To see what this number is a negative of, we reverse the sign of this number.
