If there is no STOP button on your printer, use RESUME or CANCEL button instead. Hold the button until the Alarm LED stops glowing and/or the error message clears. It should take about 5-6 seconds for the ink monitor to disable and the printer resume normal operation.
When the low ink warning appears, press and hold the STOP/RESET or RESUME button on the printer for 10 seconds. This button will flash with an orange light when the warning pops up, so it will be relatively easy to find. If you get a warning on your computer or LCD screen, just press or click OK to carry on printing.
Follow these steps: Power off the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet. Open the cartridge access door and carefully remove all ink cartridges. Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to perform a hard reset. Reinstall the ink cartridges, ensuring they are securely and correctly placed.
Open your PDF in Acrobat. Then go to Tools Print Production Output Preview. In the dialogue box below (under Total Area Coverage) enter the recommended Maximum Ink Limit for the paper stock you reqire (225% for Uncoated stocks such as Letterheads and 300% for Coated stocks such as Gloss Leaflets).

This error occurs due to the chip on your cartridge still reporting a low or empty ink level from its previous use. The chip itself cannot always be reset, so when the cartridge is refilled and then installed into a new machine it will still register as empty.
