in this lesson i will explain to you about negative index using a negative index so here i have written some information first i will read and then i will explain to you first character in a string is index 0 which we have discussed in our last lesson last character in our string is index minus 1. now what is the meaning of this we can address individual characters in a string from the last character counting backwards using a negative index address access the end of the negative string using -1 strings assign an index number addresses to each string character so see here i have make a simple example student underscore name is my variable which is initialized by the name kulzum and consume is a string that is why i have written in double quotation and here i have written some comment that access the last character with the minus 1 index negative index counts back from the last character in our string see as we have discussed in our last lesson that we used to count our index from left

Signed integers are stored in a computer using 2s complement. It consist both negative and positive values but in different formats like (-1 to -128) or (0 to +127) . An unsigned integer can hold a larger positive value, and no negative value like (0 to 255) . Unlike C++ there is no unsigned integer in Java.
substr() s start index will wrap to the end of the string if it is negative, while substring() will clamp it to 0 . Negative lengths in substr() are treated as zero, while substring() will swap the two indexes if end is less than start .
String substr() This method takes a start index, and optionally a number of characters to read from that start index with the default being to read until the end of the string. The start parameter may be a negative number, for starting relative from the end.
The SUBSTRINGINDEX function helps us to return a part of data as necessary. In other words, it allows us to return a substring of a string after a specified index, hence the name.
What are negative indices? Negative indices are powers (also called exponents) with a minus sign in front of them. E.g. We get negative indices by dividing two terms with the same base where the first term is raised to a power that is smaller than the power that the second term is raised to.
Negative indexes refer to the positions of elements within an array-like object such as a list, tuple, or string, counting from the end of the data structure rather than the beginning.
What are negative indices? Negative indices are powers (also called exponents) with a minus sign in front of them. E.g. x2. 34.
To select numbers from the end of the list, we use negative indexes starting from -1 and adding -1 each time to get the next number from the end. In the example above, to select the element 60 that is placed at the end of the list, we can use the index -1. For element 15, we can use the index -2 and so on.
Unlike Python and other languages, Java does not have built-in support for negative indexing of arrays. However, there are techniques in Java to mimic some functionality of negative indices.
Returns the substring from string str before count occurrences of the delimiter delim. If count is positive, everything the left of the final delimiter (counting from left) is returned. If count is negative, every to the right of the final delimiter (counting from the right) is returned.
