Be careful: many programming languages do allow negative indexes, but JavaScript doesnt. It wont throw an exception if you try to read from or write to negative indexes. Instead, youll get confusing results like those above!
What are negative indices? Negative indices are powers (also called exponents) with a minus sign in front of them. E.g. x2. 34.
A number with a negative index represents the reciprocal of the number raised to that index when its positive. This is a powerful concept in algebra and is used extensively in solving algebraic problems.
To select numbers from the end of the list, we use negative indexes starting from -1 and adding -1 each time to get the next number from the end. In the example above, to select the element 60 that is placed at the end of the list, we can use the index -1. For element 15, we can use the index -2 and so on.
The Negative Side Index numbers deal with averages and are a rough estimate of the change in a variable. Consequently, they simply indicate temporal changes for the variable which are not completely true or accurate.
Dividing indices means subtracting the powers. d 4 d 5 = d 4 5 = d 1 . This is an example of a negative index.
