Yes, you can use class and id together without any problems. The only recommendation is to always use unique id names. Never use the same id name more than once.
The :first-child selector is a pseudo-class in CSS that allows you to target the first child element within a parent container. It selects elements that are the first immediate child of their parent. This powerful selector makes it easier to apply unique styles or modifications to that specific element.
This means that CSS rules targeting an ID will override rules targeting a class, which can be useful for applying unique styling or overriding general styles. Fragment Identifiers: IDs are often used in URLs as fragment identifiers to link directly to specific sections of a webpage.
Id selector has highest priority because of unique nature of the ID attribute definition. We have two classes with one ID selector here it will apply font-size:12px and font-weight:500 due to the specificity rule as ID selector has highest priority after inline CSS.
IDs are more specific than classes and take precedence over them. This is because IDs have to be UNIQUE on every pageso they are by nature very specific. Classes can appear multiple times.
How to Use ID in CSS. The first rule to keep in mind when using the ID attribute is that it must contain at least one character and cannot begin with a number.
This selector is used to select every element which is not the first-child of its parent element. It is represented as an argument in the form of :not(first-child) element.
