Highlight color is the color of highlighted text. However, you can choose to have different highlight colors and accent colors. To change the former, just select a color from the Highlight color drop-down menu.
On your Mac, do any of the following: Select an item: Click the item. Select multiple items: Press and hold the Command key, then click the items (they dont need to be next to each other). Select multiple items that are adjacent: Click the first item, then press the Shift key and click the last item.
Select the text where you want to remove highlights and comments. To remove them for all body text in the document, press Command-A on your keyboard. Choose Edit Remove Highlights and Comments (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen).
Remove a highlight, an underline or a strikethrough: Control-click the text, then choose Remove item from the shortcut menu.
Go to System Preferences General to see what is specified for your Highlight Color. Try selecting several different colors to see if it has any effect. Youll have to restart Word after each change.
