The WRF Model has been updated to Version 4.4 on April 26, 2022. The WRF Pre-processing System (WPS) has been updated to Version 4.4.
Relative Humidity Definition. Relative Humidity (RH) Is a ratio, expressed in percent, of the amount of atmospheric moisture present relative to the amount that would be present if the air were saturated.
Relative humidity can be found by subtracting the temperature on the wet-bulb thermometer from the temperature on the dry-bulb thermometer and using a relative humidity chart.
In case air is saturated the relative humidity is 100 percent. The relative humidity can be expressed by the following equation: R.H. = vapour pressure/saturation vapour pressure 100.
The WRF model consists of seven different parameterization schemes: microphysics, cumulus physics, short wave and longwave radiation, planetary boundary layer physics, land surface physics, and surface layer physics.
WRF features two dynamical (computational) cores (or solvers), a data assimilation system, and a software architecture allowing for parallel computation and system extensibility. The model serves a wide range of meteorological applications across scales ranging from meters to thousands of kilometers.
Relative humidity is related to the partial pressure of water vapor in the air. At 100% humidity, the partial pressure is equal to the vapor pressure, and no more water can enter the vapor phase. If the partial pressure is less than the vapor pressure, then evaporation will take place, as humidity is less than 100%.
Moderator. The Relative Humidity (RH) is simply the mixing ratio divided by the saturation mixing ratio. wrfout files include mixing ratio and T, from which you can easily obtain RH.
