In a WPS Office Spreadsheet, you can subtract two numbers by simply typing a minus sign (-) between them. For example, to subtract 5 from 10, you would type =(10-5) into a cell. However, if you want to subtract the value in one cell from the value in another cell, you need to use a mixed cell reference.
Enter the ABS Formula: Type =ABS(, click on the cell containing the negative number, or type its cell reference, then close the parenthesis. For example, if cell A2 contains a negative number, you would enter =ABS(A2). Press Enter: The cell will now display the positive version of the number.
Method 1: Multiplying by -1 This is a general method in which we will first check whether the number is already positive or negative, if the number is negative then we will multiply the number by -1 to make it positive.
You just have to simply multiply by 1. For example if you have a number a then multiply by 1 to get a1=a. If the number is positive then multiply by 1.
Following are some ways to think and behave in a more positive and optimistic way: Identify areas to change. Check yourself. Be open to humor. Follow a healthy lifestyle. Surround yourself with positive people. Practice positive self-talk.
If you subtract a negative number, the two negatives combine to make a positive. 10(10) is not 20. Instead, you can think of it as turning one of the negative signs upright, to cross over the other, and make a plus.
This is a general method in which we will first check whether the number is already positive or negative, if the number is negative then we will multiply the number by -1 to make it positive.
Negative numbers are typed into Excel by using a hyphen - symbol and the number.
