To get started, make a new document, go to File New set your image size to your liking. And here I set the resolution to 300 pixels/inch and with RGB color mode. Click Create. Now, drag the wood texture background image onto the canvas. Overlap the top-left corner of the background image right onto the top-left corner of the canvas. Then resize it by pressing and holding your SHIFT key and stretch out the handler. You can also resize it by pressing and holding ALT-SHIFT keys while stretching one of the corners.
