These examples, which involve changing the terms or conditions of your current, existing insurance policy are accomplished with a policy endorsement. An endorsement, also known as a rider, adds, deletes, excludes or changes insurance coverage.
The current form CG 20 10 after 1985 does not provide coverage to the additional insured for completed operations. It only provides coverage for ongoing operations, and this was a completed operations exposure. If they also wanted coverage for completed operations, they would need a CG 20 37 endorsement.
CG 20 11 Additional Insured - Managers or Lessors of Premises. Adds a premises owner or manager as additional insured under tenants policy. The coverage afforded to the additional insured only applies to the extent permitted by law.
Additional Coverage-An endorsement that adds or includes coverage that would otherwise be excluded. Exclusions- Some endorsements exclude coverage for certain types of claims. Modification of Coverage- An endorsement can expand the scope of existing coverage.
20 Loss of Use. Provides for the rental of an automobile while the insured vehicle is out of use due to an insured peril. Different limits per occurrence can be purchased.
By Allstate. Last updated: November 2021. An insurance endorsement, also called a rider, is a change to your insurance policy that adjusts your coverage. Adding an endorsement to your existing insurance contract usually means adding or modifying coverage.
However, a true equivalent to the CG 20 10 11 85 does exist. The equivalent is the pairing of the CG 20 10 10 01 and CG 20 37 10 01 forms. The primary reason the CG 20 10 11 85 was retired in the first place was it was extending completed operations coverage when the intent was to provide only ongoing operations.
The CG 20 10 additional insured endorsement extends coverage to your clients. What makes the CG 20 10 11/85 endorsement different and client preferred boils down to the phrase: your work. After November 1985 (hence 11/85), the term your work was replaced with your ongoing operations.
