Hey everyone welcome back. We are looking at the IF formula in excel and in particular, if a cell contains the word amp;#39;mintsamp;#39;, we want to bring back something if thatamp;#39;s true, and if it doesnamp;#39;t contain the word amp;#39;mintsamp;#39; we want to bring back a blank. So to do this we need to combine the SEARCH function and Iamp;#39;ll show you in two easy steps how to get it all in one formula. So letamp;#39;s get started. EQUALS, SEARCH, weamp;#39;re searching for the word amp;#39;mintsamp;#39;, comma, within the cell B4, close brackets, and it comes up with the number six. What that means is it has found the word amp;#39;mintsamp;#39; and itamp;#39;s the sixth character along where we start to find that word mints. Weamp;#39;ll drag the cell down and you can see that in the cells that donamp;#39;t contain the word amp;#39;mintsamp;#39;, it brought back an error, and where it did contain the word amp;#39;mintsamp;#39;

To use the ABS function, simply enter the formula =ABS(number) in a cell, replacing number with the actual value or cell reference you want to convert. For example, =ABS(-25) would return 25, and =ABS(A1) would return the absolute value of the number in cell A1.
Type the formula: =NOT(logicalexpression), where value is the value or expression that you want to negate.
Converting a positive value into a negative one in Microsoft Excel is a straightforward processall you need to do is place a negative sign in front of the value within the cell.
For example, the formula =NOT(TRUE) returns FALSE, and the formula =NOT(FALSE) returns TRUE. So, if you want to invert the result of a logical expression in Google Sheets, you can use the NOT function.
0:51 1:52 Now the operation Im going to choose is to multiply. So what Im asking Excel to do is multiplyMoreNow the operation Im going to choose is to multiply. So what Im asking Excel to do is multiply minus 1 by the column. And Ill say ok. So when this is done as you can see -1 is again multiplied.
Go to the Format Cell window by right clicking on a cell you want to format. Under the Number tab select the Number or Currency category. In the Number category you will see 4 options for negative numbers: -1234.10 = This option keeps negative numbers black with a negative symbol in front.
When you begin to type =MINUS into an empty cell, Google Sheets will automatically populate the MINUS function =MINUS(value1,value2). The comma here once again tells Sheets to subtract these values. Note that the MINUS function can only handle two values, and your values can be specific cells, numbers, or a range.
In Google Sheets, the SIGN() function is used to determine the sign of a given value. It returns the sign as either 1 (positive), -1 (negative), or 0 (zero).
