hi there and welcome to this video on poisson regression and its relatives so today iamp;#39;ll cover why you need to do a different type of regression if you have count data talk about something called over dispersion and how to choose a method that can deal with it and provide some options to deal with too many or not enough zero values so this video is a bit longer than usual so i put in some links chapter links below and if you want to skip ahead to look for specific topics so iamp;#39;ll assume you have some familiarity with the more traditional linear regression which fits a line to minimize the squared residuals in the y direction right so one key requirement of linear regression is that the residuals should fall evenly around the fitted line with a normal distribution of residuals that has a constant variance at all points along the line so but what if we have count data for counts the residuals usually donamp;#39;t work this way for one thing counts are whole numbers but th

Your result may be negative even though there is a HPV infection or abnormal cells in the cervix. This is called a false negative. A false negative may mean that you are not sent for further tests. This could be a missed chance to stop cancer developing.
Normal Pap test results: No abnormal cervical cells were found. A normal test result may also be called a negative test result or negative for intraepithelial lesion (area of abnormal growth) or malignancy.
If your result is HPV negative, your sample will not be tested for cell changes. Your test results could include one of the following: No HPV found - means you dont have high risk HPV. So you will be invited back for cervical screening in 3 or 5 years time depending on your age and where you live.
Women with negative cytology and positive HPV co-testing results who are aged 30 years and older should be managed in one of two ways: Repeat co-testing in 12 months. If the repeat cervical cytology test result is LSIL or higher or the HPV test result is still positive; the patient should be referred for colposcopy.
If you have a negative result for the most common types of HPV that cause cervical cancer, your risk of cervical cancer is very low and there is no need to check for abnormal cells even if you have had these in the past. If you have a positive result for HPV we will check the sample for abnormal cells.
A Pap test can be normal (or negative), unclear, abnormal, or unsatisfactory. In contrast, an HPV test can be negative or positive. Even if a Pap test is negative, you still need a Pap exam every three years, as its possible for the cells in your cervix to change.
