There are four constructives, each of which is eight minutes long. They are abbreviated as 1AC, 1NC, 2AC, 2NC. Cross Examination (CX): After each constructive, a member of the other team will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker.
This is the Second Negative Rebuttal, or 2NR. The 2NR is the single hardest speech in debate. The Negative has to be technical here, covering the 1AR and extending offense from the Negative Block.
The First Negative Rebuttal (1NR) is the third speech given by the negative team, the fifth speech in the round, given by the first negative speaker. Because it is the second part of the negative block, it usually takes arguments not covered by the 2NC.
Tasks of Your Constructive Speech. As first negative, you correct the affirmatives definitions and background information, refute the First Affirmatives points, summarize the negatives position, and begin the negatives case.
The first assistant camera (also called the 1st assistant camera, 1st AC, first AC, or focus puller) has one main job: they sit next to the camera during filming and operate the lenss focusing ring. The role of the focus puller is to keep the right subject in focus throughout each scene.
First affirmative rebuttal (1AR): This is the most difficult speech. The first affirmative team member must respond to all arguments that the negative made in the second negative in the 2NC and the first negative in the 1NR.
The First Affirmative Constructive (1AC) is the first speech given in a round, presented by the affirmative team. Nearly every 1AC includes inherency, advantages, and solvency, as well as a plan text, the textual expression of the affirmative policy option. The 1AC is generally pre-scripted before the round.
