Right you are, Squeaks! Its electricity that makes the light go on. You probably already know something about the electricity that powers things in your house. Well, the electricity in a flashlight comes from the batteries that are inside. Electricity flows from the battery to a light bulb. And when the electricity goes through the bulb, the flashlight lights up! But the electricity doesnt just jump from the battery right to the bulb. In order to get from the battery to the light bulb, the electricity has to go along a specific path. And that path is called a circuit. If you listen to the word circuit, it kind of sounds like a shape you might know. Lets name some shapes, and see which one sounds like circuit! TrianglenosquarenoI know, circle! If Continuous Effects or Unclassified Effects are negated, they simply no longer apply. If an effect that makes a Chain Link is negated, it resolves without effect. However, this does not prevent these effects from being activated.
The power to negate and nullify absolutely anything/everything. Variation of Nothingness Manipulation. Ultimate form of Negation. Opposite to Absolute Restoration.
To negate an effect is to prevent it from being applied. A card effect can only be negated by a card effect that specifically uses the term "negate". If Continuous Effects or Unclassified Effects are negated, they simply no longer apply. If an effect that makes a Chain Link is negated, it resolves without effect.
If the activation of a Spell or Trap Card is negated, that card is sent to the Graveyard after the entire Chain it was activated in resolves if it has not already been moved somewhere, but it is not treated as being sent from the field.
Negating a Summon Answer: Yes. Some cards, like Thunder King Rai-Oh and Steelswarm Roach, can negate the Summon of a monster. But there's one VERY IMPORTANT THING you need to know: These effects can ONLY negate the actual Summon – they can't negate an effect that Summons, or a Spell/Trap that Summons.
As such, the cost is paid before the effect takes place, regardless of whether or not the effect is negated. If a monster's effect is negated as long as it's on the field, and its cost requires it, or the card affecting it, leaves the field, the monster can resolve its effect.
Negating the activation of a card or effect and destroying that card are not the same thing; as such, even if a card is Chained to the activation of a card or effect to destroy that card, its effect may still resolve, with or without effect.
A cost is not an effect. As such, the cost is paid before the effect takes place, regardless of whether or not the effect is negated. If a monster's effect is negated as long as it's on the field, and its cost requires it, or the card affecting it, leaves the field, the monster can resolve its effect.
Negate (Japanese: 無 む 効 こう ( 化 か ) Mukō(ka)) is a term that refers to stopping an action from being performed successfully or nullifying a card effect.
The basic concept is that a card on the field cannot have its effects negated by two different sources at the same time. If a card's effects are currently being negated, then they cannot be negated again by a different card.
