so Iamp;#39;ve been playing around with base 64 itamp;#39;s a way of converting binary files into asky files the cool thing about this is you can use this to embed or send a binary file where you can only send text certain email services will not allow you to attach certain types of binary files to the emails and also certain message boards and forums you go to youamp;#39;re not allowed to attach anything at all except for maybe a link base 64 solves a lot of these little problems in this example Iamp;#39;m going to make a vorus file and encode it into base 64 and then put it on paste bin I also put a link to the file so you can test it out in the links below so hereamp;#39;s how it works okay if we run the file command you can see this file is a vorus file and if I LS you see itamp;#39;s the only file available in this directory which is my desktop Now using base 64 I can select test file and output to an asky file now when I uh file this one see it says simply asky text and if

Then at some point you have to decode this pseudo-text back into an original data because base64 gibberish in itself is useless. Decoding performs similar binary operations but in reverse. The restored data is guaranteed to be exactly the same as before encoding.
Base64 is not encryption. But yes, different input strings will always encode to different Base64-encoded strings, and the same input string will always encode to the same Base64-encoded string. Its not a hash though, so small changes in the input will only result in small changes in the output.
Base64 strings tend to end in one or two equal signs, but not always! These strings are not exact representations of the binary data in ASCII, because padding is applied to ensure the string length is a multiple of 4 characters. Each equal sign represents two bits of zero-padding.
Quite often, users cannot decode Base64, because they got a malformed or invalid string. For example, this can happen if the source outputs an unexpected Base64 standard, the user copied unnecessary data, or something damaged the Base64 value.
Because in order to display something you first need to decode it from base64 back to the original form. Decoded data will be exactly the same as it was before encoding. It will be the same sequence of bits with the same ambiguous characters as before.
Reversing a Base64 encoded string involves decoding the Base64 representation back into its original binary form and then converting it to the original value or data.
What is Radix 64 Encoding? Radix 64 encoding allows binary data stored in octets (i.e. bytes) to be expressed as printable characters. Radix-64 characters require the binary input to be split into blocks of 6. These numbers (which all range from 0 - 63) are then mapped onto a character set of printable characters.
