You can use the UMINUS function to change the sign of a number, converting it from positive to negative or vice versa.
If you are using a function and it keeps returning errors, you can wrap the formula with IFERROR. This will give you a cleaner spreadsheet with data thats easier to read. It can be used with many common functions including Query and Vlookup.
Remove protection In a Google Sheet, click Data. Protect Sheets and ranges. On the right panel that appears, to view all of the ranges with protections, click Cancel. Find protection you want to delete. Click delete .
To ignore errors globally, select the File tab on Excels ribbon, click Options, then go to the Formulas tab. Clear the checkbox beside Enable background error checking then click OK.
Type the formula: =NOT(logicalexpression), where value is the value or expression that you want to negate.
Use IFERROR Function If you want to avoid displaying the error, you can use the IFERROR Function to display some text or to keep the cell blank. Nest your original formula into an IFERROR formula.
IFERROR works by scanning a formulas output for errors. If it finds one, it replaces it with any value you specify. This function is usually used to hide errors following the logic if error return blank. If the formula has no error, it simply returns the intended output.
The #VALUE error message means your formula contains the wrong type of value. For example, if you ask Google Sheets to multiply two cells, but one of the cells contains text instead of a number, itll return a #VALUE error message. Fix: Update any referenced cells so that they contain the expected value.
