In this tutorial, Kevin Kennedy, an education training officer for Simons Service NHS Trust, introduces the history-taking model with the assistance of simulated patient Erin. The module covers nine subsections essential for effective history taking. The process begins with a SMART approach, including general observations and patient introduction. Kevin demonstrates the conversation by introducing himself and confirming the patient's details. After addressing the patient's main concern of sharp chest pains, he ensures privacy before proceeding to gather more detailed history about the symptoms. This structured approach is crucial in gathering relevant patient information.
