Liquidity regulations are financial regulations designed to ensure that financial institutions (e.g. banks) have the necessary assets on hand in order to prevent liquidity disruptions due to changing market conditions.
The purpose of LTP is to transfer liquidity costs and benefits from business units to a centrally managed pool. To achieve this, LTP charges users of funds (assets/loans) for the cost of liquidity, and credits providers of funds (liabilities/deposits) for the benefit of liquidity.
The aim is to allow banks to make use of their stock of liquid assets, without stigma, in the event of a liquidity shock, i.e. thereby temporarily falling below the 100% minimum requirement.
The NSFR objective is complementary to the LCR in that it aims to ensure funding resilience over a longer time horizon, requiring banks to fund long-term assets with long-term liabilities and thus limit the degree of maturity mismatch.
Fund transfer pricing (FTP) is a process used in banking to measure the performance of different business units of a bank.
What Is a Liquidity Premium? A liquidity premium is any form of additional compensation that is required to encourage investment in assets that cannot be easily and efficiently converted into cash at fair market value.
The aim of BCBS 248 is to ensure that banks are able to meet their payment and settlement obligations under both business-as-usual and stressed conditions.
Charting Funds Transfer Pricing FTP charting is a part of all methodologies with charts representing the pooled data across assets and liabilities. In general, it charts the association between yield-to-maturity and time-to-maturity. Charting can be customized based on methodology and report requirements.
The Basel III liquidity framework incorporates a number of important measures that will increase the resilience of banks to short-term liquidity shocks, as well as promo- ting a more structurally sound funding profile for them and enhancing their incentives to better assess and manage liquidity risk.
Liquidity Agreement means any agreement entered into in connection with this Agreement pursuant to which a Liquidity Provider agrees to make purchases or advances to, or purchase assets from, any Conduit Purchaser in order to provide liquidity for such Conduit Purchasers Purchases.
