The zip man page provides a -u option to update a zip archive. You can use it like so: zip -u bigzip. zip file/to/update1 file/to/update2
In order to work with a file/folder that has been zipped (edit it, save changes etc), you MUST unzip it first, then open the unzipped file/folder and work with it.
If youre on a Windows computer, you can right-click a file, go to Send to and click Compressed (zipped) folder. The compressed file will appear in the same folder directory as the original file you compressed. Youll notice that the compressed file is smaller than the original. You can then email the file!
Extract/Unzip Zipped Files Right-click the zipped folder saved to your computer. Choose Extract All (an extraction wizard will begin). Click [Next ]. Click [Browse] and navigate to where you would like to save the files. Click [Next ]. Click [Finish].
2) Check out the multifile document which includes the zipped file. 3) Select zip-file inside multifile document and select with right-click Windows commands - 7-Zip - Open archive. Zip packet content inside 7-zip window will open. 4) Open document editor (e.g. Word) with double-click and edit the document.
To zip (compress) a file or folder Locate the file or folder that you want to zip. Press and hold (or right-click) the file or folder, select (or point to) Send to, and then select Compressed (zipped) folder. A new zipped folder with the same name is created in the same location.
Use Google Drive This is the default option for most people trying to share files that are larger than 25MB. When Gmail detects that your mail is larger than 25MB, it automatically uploads your attachments to Drive and adds a download link to it in your mail.
Using the Alternate Extension Open the WinZip Options window. Open the Integration tab of the WinZip Options window. In the Associate WinZip with group, check the box labeled Alternate extension for Zip files. Type the alternate extension you want to use in the space provided. Click OK.
Compress the file. You can make a large file a little smaller by compressing it into a zipped folder. In Windows, right-click the file or folder, go down to send to, and choose Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a new folder thats smaller than the original.
Upload your file to a cloud service, such as OneDrive or Dropbox. Note: The service you use generates a link to access your file. Your recipient can open the link to download your file. After you upload the file, copy the link, and paste it into your email message.
