Iamp;#39;m an author book, cover designer and the creator of the book launch planner. And I also format books. Iamp;#39;ve been formatting for a couple years now. So Iamp;#39;ve encountered just about everything, whether that be poetry, books, workbooks, Iamp;#39;ve done memoirs. Iamp;#39;ve done your regular old novel. Iamp;#39;ve encountered just about every type of book that is out there and Iamp;#39;ve formatted them all. Now I started off as an author, just like you guys, someone who just wanted to learn how to format a book so they could save the cost of hiring a formatter. I actually started by formatting my books in Microsoft word. In fact, I even have tutorials on this YouTube channel where I tell you how to format your book using Microsoft word. Use autocorrection If you dont see autocorrect suggestions, make sure autocorrection is turned on. Choose Pages Settings (from the Pages menu at the top of your screen). Click Auto-Correction at the top of the settings window, then select or deselect Correct spelling automatically.
Turn on tracking: Choose Edit Track Changes (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen). If the review toolbar is showing above your document, you can also click Track Changes in the toolbar.
Update a paragraph style In the Format sidebar, do one of the following: If theres an Update button: Click Update. If theres only an asterisk: Click the style name, then move the pointer over the style name in the Paragraph Styles pop-up menu. Click the arrow that appears, then choose Redefine from Selection.
Edit content: Double-click the cell to make the insertion point appear, then type. To move the insertion point, click where you want it, then type. Replace content: Click the cell, then start typing. The existing content is overwritten.
Rearrange pages or sections in Pages for iCloud Click the View button in the toolbar, then choose Page Thumbnails. Click a page thumbnail (in a page layout document) or section (in a word-processing document) to select it, then drag it to a new location (in the sidebar).
Use auto-correction Choose Pages Settings (from the Pages menu at the top of your screen). Click Auto-Correction at the top of the settings window, then select or deselect Correct spelling automatically. With autocorrection on, do any of the following:
Undo the last action: Choose Edit Undo (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen), or press Command-Z on your keyboard. Redo the last action you undid: Choose Edit Redo, or press Command-Shift-Z.
Edit a custom template Open Pages, choose File New, then double-click the template you want to use as the basis for a new template. Custom templates appear in the My Templates category in the template chooser. Make your changes, choose File Save Template, then choose an option to save the document as a new template.
